Tasks & responsibilities

Business Development

  • Creation of technical proposals for hydro power plants and components
  • Development of good relationship with potential partners (Civil work companies, suppliers,..), consultant engineers and other important institutions, especially financial institutions, local authorities and persons influencing the business opportunities
  • Development of the Market in African countries covering the full portfolio from service to small and large power plant projects
  • Coordination with Clients global counterpart as Key-Account-Managers, Holding, Financial Services

Sales Tasks

  • Customer main interface and customer „voice“ within Company
  • Responsible for orders intake and related profit in the respective sales region
  • Responsible for the offer creation, project calculation and budget planning
  • Follow projects from „cradle to grave“ during offer phase
  • Development of sales and project strategies for projects
  • Offer preparation is done by offer teams which require close cooperation with the relevant internal departments – guidance of the respective departments to ensure efficient utilization of needed internal and external resources
  • Responsibility to keep the targets in relation to deadlines and quality in the offer process
  • Documentation of the offer process for approval
  • Lead of the negotiation with the customer

Candidate requirements

  • Diploma, Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering Science or Business Administration
  • Experience in Sales/ Business Development or Project Management, ideally in the field of power plants
  • Knowledge about commercial conditions and finance structures
  • Open-minded, communicative personality, enjoys working in international teams with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Comfortable representing our Client on executive level and to senior customers
  • Willingness to travel in African countries with hydro power or hydro-power potential
  • Huge impact on customer satisfaction, Risk Management, company’s image and profit
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (optional Portuguese) is mandatory, German language skills are welcome
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking with a keen sense of business opportunities
  • High level communication skills, equipped with the ability to inspire everybody involved in the project
  • Ability to communicate proficiently with all relevant parties to reach commitments
  • Intercultural experience (especially Africa)
  • Good planning and organizing skills
  • Hands on mentality and willingness to work with people on all levels
  • Straight forward and target-oriented
  • Ability to logically analyze and manage complex situations
  • Creativeness and willingness to find and try alternative or even unconventional ways to succeed
