The Customer Technology Center is linked to the global network of engineering and administration sites. The site includes:

–       Global Powetrain Systems Business Unit Headquarters

–       Global Electrical & Electronic Architecture Business Unit Headquarters

–       European Thermal Business Unit Headquarters

–       1983: First establishment of the Technology Center; an expansion project was completed in 1989

We are currently seeking for our client a Communications Manager Powertrain Division to lead the Global Powertrain Communications team (~5 direct reports/Asia, US, France, LUX) ´´. The main challenges will be to establish a communication and marketing plan (external and internal) in accordance to the business objectives.

2.    Your Tasks 

  • Develop communications plan and drive execution (with support of direct reports and shared staff) of di- vision’s internal, external and marketing communications

This includes:

  1. Identifying/managing media relationships to convey product/divisional messages
  2. Initiating appropriate use of agencies (PR, advertising, shows/events)
  3. Leading collaboration with divisional/PBU leadership to plan/execute internal communications tied to strategies and priorities
  4. Ensuring adequate community relations processes are in place in plant cities when such  outreach can yield needed  support from employees, local thought leaders, customers and other divisional stakeholders
  5. Establishing appropriate re-search/evaluation tools and metrics tied to divisional strategy and priorities, and pro- vide feedback on success of effort Ensure commonality/consistency across PBUs
  6. Supporting government  relations  activities directly related to division/region
  • Build strong relationships with PBUs and their global networks, and other divisional SCMs
  • Manage budget
  • Link with regional teams to ensure planning/execution for both global and region-specific projects and initiatives

3.    Prerequisites

A. Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or other similar relevant discipline
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Strong management and influencing skills
  • Willingness to travel (30–40%)

B. Desired

  • 8–10 years of experience in communications in a global company (automobile industry or comparable sector)
  • German and/or French skills are a valuable asset.

4.    Generalities

  •  The working time is 40 hours per week.
  • You will report to division’s communications Vice-President
  • The ideal member for the team is independent, open- minded and team-oriented, as well as endowed with communication and cooperation skills.
